The 2019 Fresh Wild Pacific Halibut Season Starts March 15th
The 95th annual International Pacific Halibut Commission meeting was held in Victoria, BC between January 28th and February 1st, 2019.
At the meeting Canadian and US representatives agreed that the 2019 season dates would be March 15th to November 14th, 2019 and set the catch limits for both countries. For 2019, the total allowable catch for the BC commercial fishery will be 5.10 million lbs (2,313 tonnes, dressed weight).
